How to Remove Acrylic Nails

“For everything there is a solution, except for death.” This is the affirmation of many grandmothers. By this they mean that every situation can be remedied. For example, if something is broken, it can be mended; if you don’t like the color of a wall, then you can paint it.

The same fundamental principle applies to our physique. If you have curly hair and you like it straight, you can straighten it. The opposite is also true.

There are many women who are not satisfied with some characteristics of their physique. Others just want a change for special occasions like weddings, graduations, or some other big social event.

In these cases, then you want to lengthen your eyelashes, define the arch of your eyebrows, a more elaborate makeup and acrylic nails for those who want to show off their hands to the nines.

However, it is no secret to anyone that putting on these nails could be a challenge. Keeping them intact can be difficult, especially if you are a housewife or have children to care for.

It has happened to some like the magicians: Now you see it, now you don’t. You may have your nails complete when you put your hand in your bag, but when you take it out, maybe you are already missing one, has this happened to you?… Or maybe you drop something and, when you pick it up, you hit your nails on the ground and you end up losing one.

These and other situations can lead you to regret your decision to get acrylic nails. But, hey! You can’t remove them the way you want, doing so could seriously weaken your own nails, as well as cause pain.

How can you remove acrylic nails and not die trying? Today we will be sharing with you some beauty secrets related to this topic. So you can’t miss them. Continue reading.

Instructions for removing acrylic nails

If you have weak or brittle nails, acrylic nails are a great option for you as they are easy to apply and generally long-lasting. However, with the growth of your natural nail, two options arise: Maintain them or remove them.

Removing them could become complicated due to the material they use to adhere them. However, we can help you with this particular.

One way to remove them is by cutting the nails to the height of your natural nails. After that, with the help of a file, proceed to file the upper part of the nail to make it easier to remove them.

Next, apply petroleum jelly around your nails and make a cotton ball for each nail. When you have your ten balls, dip them in acetone and adhere them to your nails with the help of aluminum foil.

Allow the acetone to act for about 30 minutes. That way, the acetone will weaken the glue on your acrylic nails. After that time, remove the aluminum foil with the cotton of each nail.

In order not to damage your natural nails, use an orange stick and try to peel off the acrylic nails. They should come off completely at this point, but if they resist, then leave them longer with the acetone.

After you have managed to remove them, gently file your natural nails with a buffer file. That way you can remove any glue residue that may have remained.

Finally, wash your hands very well and moisturize your nails by applying a small dose of olive oil on them. That way they will be able to recover the moisture they lost when they came into contact with the acetone.

You can also remove them with the help of olive oil. The procedure is very simple.

The first thing you should do is pour a splash of olive oil into a container large and deep enough to fit your hands. Soak your hands in the oil for about 10 minutes.

The purpose is that the olive oil weakens the glue of the acrylic nails so as not to damage your natural nails when removing them.

After 10 minutes, remove your hands from the olive oil and try to move your acrylic nails back and forth so you can loosen them up and remove them easily. When you have achieved it, moisten a little cotton with acetone and pass it through each of your nails to remove the remains of glue that may have remained.

To finish, apply a little olive oil again to recover the moisture of your natural nails.

As you may have noticed, removing acrylic nails does not have to be a nightmare. You can do it in the blink of an eye without having to spend money going to a beauty salon or an expensive spa.

It can be as easy as taking candy from a child; you just have to have the right materials to successfully perform the procedure. Now, what are those materials? Let’s see it.

What do you need to remove acrylic nails?

Materials are essential to achieve your goal. If you are missing any, the best thing to do is wait until you have them all before trying to remove your acrylic nails. Otherwise, you could damage your natural nail or cause yourself a lot of pain.

If you decide to opt for the first recommendation, you will need the following materials:

  • Nail polish remover or acetone
  • a nail clipper
  • enough cotton
  • A polishing file
  • aluminum foil
  • Vaseline
  • An orange stick

And ready! What you would have left would be to get to work. But if you prefer to go for the second option, then you will need these materials:

  • cotton balls
  • Nail polish remover or acetone
  • A polishing file
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • deep and wide bowl
  • a nail clipper

It should be noted that these are not the only methods to remove acrylic nails. There are others where fewer materials are needed but greater caution. For example, when you try to peel them off using a cuticle nipper and a file.

The truth is that whatever method you use, what you will need most is time and patience. As required to put them on. Now, take into account some additional tips that we will be giving you.

Tips for removing acrylic nails

As we have seen, all the methods to remove acrylic nails are quite simple. However, depending on how attached the acrylic nail is, the procedure can be a bit uphill.

If this happens to you, take into account some of these recommendations to avoid causing damage or weakening your natural nails too much.

Avoid the tendency to want to force the nail off. With that you will not achieve more than because yourself pain and mistreat your natural nails. If you notice that the problem is out of your hands, the best thing you can do is go to a professional manicurist so they can help you solve the problem.

When using acetone, keep an eye out for any unfavorable reaction, be it allergy or irritation. In that case, the best thing you can do is stop its use and consult your doctor.

The job doesn’t end when you remove the acrylic nails. You want to make sure to remove any glue residue that may remain.

At the end, you should always wash your hands to be able to remove the acetone and Vaseline. Also remember that it is important to apply a little olive oil or some other essential oil to restore moisture to your nails.

As much as you want to look like a diva, don’t immediately apply acrylic nails again. Allow your natural nail to balance and recover. This will take about a week. You should let your natural nails breathe from time to time. In addition, you must give them the necessary care to be able to strengthen them after the impact caused by acrylic nails.

If you follow our recommendations to the letter you will have nothing to regret and you will achieve your goal. On the other hand, your nails will know how to thank you for correctly removing acrylic nails and giving them a break.
